The Bridgeport Knee CNC retrofit kit mechanical components needed to automate the knee of a manual Bridgeport, Jet, Enco or most any similar type milling machine for motorized control. All components are precision engineered. Kit includes a size NEMA 42 motor mounting plate, motor pulleys, lead screw pulley, motor cover, drive belt, and all required bolts.
The old Bridgeport catalog I have shows ball screws as an option for the machine but makes no mention of any CNC features. Thats why I figured I could use them on a manual mill. As for the bronze nuts, the split nuts are a better design as when snugged up they engage evenly around the screw.
